TL;DR
Director US Patient Advocacy Liaison (Patient Advocacy/Healthcare): Developing and executing Lundbeck's U.S. patient engagement strategy while leading patient advocacy partnerships, liaison performance, and cross-functional initiatives with an accent on patient-centered decision-making, stakeholder insights, and healthcare compliance. Focus on building strategic relationships, translating patient perspectives into business recommendations, and measuring engagement through KPIs and Return on Engagement.

Location: Deerfield, Illinois, United States, with regular travel to the hirify.global U.S. headquarters and up to 35–40% domestic travel; international travel may be required.

Salary: $240,000–$260,000 per year, plus eligibility for a 25% bonus target and long-term incentive plan.

What you will do

  • Develop and execute the annual U.S. patient engagement strategy, including priorities, resources, KPIs, and Return on Engagement measures.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Patient Engagement Liaison staff while maintaining performance standards and growth plans.
  • Manage strategic relationships with national and regional patient advocacy organizations and oversee partnership plans.
  • Collect, synthesize, and communicate patient, caregiver, and community insights to inform advocacy strategies, patient support initiatives, and business decisions.
  • Partner with Corporate Affairs, Medical Affairs, Commercial, Market Access, Clinical Development, HEOR, Legal, and Compliance stakeholders.
  • Oversee advocacy events, funding, budgets, governance, documentation, and compliance with applicable regulations and company policies.

Requirements

  • Accredited bachelor's degree.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in patient advocacy, patient engagement, external affairs, medical affairs, market access, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or a related function.
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing direct reports.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing patient engagement or advocacy strategies in biopharmaceutical, healthcare, or nonprofit settings.
  • Proven ability to build strategic relationships with patient advocacy organizations and influence senior leaders across matrixed functions.
  • Strong strategic planning, project management, communication, executive influence, KPI measurement, and healthcare compliance skills, including knowledge of FDA regulations, the PhRMA Code, and the Sunshine Act.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree such as MBA, MPH, MS, PharmD, or PhD.
  • Experience in neuroscience, rare disease, or other specialty therapeutic areas.
  • Established credibility within the U.S. patient advocacy and healthcare advocacy community.
  • Experience managing budgets, grants, sponsorships, and strategic partnership investments.
