GNC Engineer (Aerospace)

hirify.global develops and operates full-size autonomous cargo aircraft capable of carrying two tons of payload over more than a thousand nautical miles.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain simulation environments for aircraft attitude, stability, and flight performance.
• Design and implement flight control algorithms directly on aircraft hardware.
• Use simulation data to optimize control systems, flight dynamics, and performance.
• Collaborate with avionics and software engineers on reliable control and navigation solutions.
• Analyze flight trajectories, control profiles, and stability characteristics to improve aircraft performance and safety.
• Implement and test control algorithms on prototype hardware and contribute to aircraft control system design decisions.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ownership of functional vehicle control systems, including their design and simulation.
• Experience building simulation environments from the ground up.
• Experience implementing flight control or navigation algorithms on aircraft or comparable high-performance vehicles.
• Familiarity with GNC flight software verification and validation, including 6-DOF simulations and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
• Strong problem-solving skills for real-world control challenges.
• Fundamentals of C++, Python, and Simulink for implementing control algorithms.

Nice to have

• Experience with autonomous cargo aircraft or similarly complex aerospace platforms.
