Design Engineer (Site) (React/Next.js)

Location: United States and Canada; candidates should be based in the Americas or be able to work EST hours

Salary: $100,000–$180,000 plus equity

What you will do

• Design and ship pixel-perfect, reusable components and complex website designs.
• Build and maintain core website pages, blogs, learning resources, microsites, and frontend architecture.
• Maintain code quality, CMS integrations, performance, accessibility, and maintainability.
• Implement SEO best practices, run A/B tests, and optimize conversion funnels.
• Integrate analytics, attribution, and marketing tools including Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and HubSpot.
• Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, and the co-founder to support website growth and user adoption.

Requirements

• Deep mastery of JavaScript, React, Node.js, TypeScript, and React or Next.js.
• Experience building high-quality frontend systems and components.
• Strong attention to performance, accessibility, maintainability, and visual detail.
• Experience with web design and design systems.
• Based in the Americas or able to work EST hours.
• Bias toward action, fast iteration, calculated risk-taking, and continuous learning.

Nice to have

• Technical SEO fundamentals.
• Experience with CMS platforms such as Contentful or Sanity.
• Experience configuring website analytics and marketing platform integrations.
• Experience with developer-facing products or startups.
