TL;DR
Commercial Roofing Estimator (Commercial Roofing/Construction Estimating): Preparing detailed takeoffs, cost estimates, and competitive bid packages for commercial roofing projects with an accent on roofing systems, plan interpretation, labour and material pricing, and bid-platform analysis. Focus on identifying scope gaps, estimating risks, exclusions, and complex roofing components while managing multiple bids and strict deadlines independently.
Location: Remote; candidates based in the Philippines or South Africa

What you will do
- Review commercial construction plans, specifications, drawings, addenda, and bid documents to define roofing scope.
- Complete detailed material and scope takeoffs for TPO, PVC, EPDM, built-up, metal, and other commercial roofing systems.
- Prepare labour, material, equipment, accessory, subcontractor, and other project cost estimates.
- Navigate ConstructConnect, Bid Express, Dodge Construction Network, and similar plan-room platforms to identify and evaluate opportunities.
- Prepare competitive bid proposals and complete bid packages before submission deadlines.
- Identify scope gaps, discrepancies, exclusions, assumptions, clarifications, and cost risks, while maintaining organised estimating documentation.
Requirements
- Professional experience estimating commercial roofing projects and preparing competitive bids.
- Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems, materials, components, installation methods, labour requirements, and production rates.
- Ability to independently read commercial construction plans and specifications and perform accurate takeoffs.
- Ability to manage multiple bids, strict deadlines, and estimating priorities without constant supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication, organisation, attention to detail, and risk-identification skills.
- Reliable high-speed internet, suitable hardware, consistent availability during established working hours, and a professional remote work environment are required.
Nice to have
- 3–5+ years of commercial roofing estimating experience, including large, public, or private projects.
- Advanced experience with Bluebeam Revu, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, Procore, ServiceTitan, or similar construction software.
- Experience with roofing supplier pricing, estimating databases, complex roof assemblies, insulation, sheet metal, flashing, edge metal, and penetrations.
