Packaging Engineering Intern (Automotive)

Location: Onsite in Burton, Michigan, United States; full-time onsite attendance required

What you will do

• Support the complete packaging development process, including packaging designs, prototypes, and performance testing.
• Resolve new and existing packaging problems involving designs, materials, and processes.
• Analyze engineering drawings and product specifications to determine physical, handling, environmental, safety, and material requirements.
• Evaluate packaging suppliers and vendors and participate in periodic vendor reviews.
• Manage multiple projects and collaborate with global suppliers, engineering, product management, operations, and sourcing.
• Participate in product introduction teams to help deliver new products to market.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or a related field.
• Expected graduation between December 2027 and August 2028.
• Able to work full time, 40 hours per week.
• Must be able to report onsite to Burton, Michigan, on a full-time basis.
• GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship; candidates must not require sponsorship now or in the future.
