Staff Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Hybrid; report to Warren, Michigan or Austin, Texas three days per week (Tuesday–Thursday)

What you will do

• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify high-impact analytics opportunities and develop solutions across core business areas.
• Define technical architectures, design patterns, and engineering best practices for data science systems.
• Lead the design, development, training, and deployment of generative AI and machine learning models for predictive and prescriptive use cases.
• Build scalable solutions using foundation models, RAG architectures, vector databases, agentic frameworks, and multi-agent orchestration.
• Forecast trends, identify risks, optimize operations, and communicate findings through effective data visualizations.
• Mentor junior data scientists and provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Master's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in data science or a related analytical role.
• Strong proficiency in Python, vector databases, and similarity search engines.
• Hands-on experience with foundation models and LLMs for structured reasoning, RAG implementation, agentic framework design, multi-agent systems, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Experience applying predictive and prescriptive analytics to complex business problems and communicating recommendations to executives.
• Must be able to work from Warren, Michigan or Austin, Texas under the hybrid schedule; hirify.global does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.

Nice to have

• Ph.D. in a related quantitative field.
• Automotive industry experience.
• Familiarity with Kiro, Agent Strands, Bedrock AgentCore, and Bedrock Knowledge Base.
