Data Scientist II (AI)

Location: In-office in Phoenix, Arizona, USA; candidates must reside in Phoenix

What you will do

• Develop, evaluate, refine, and scale statistical, machine learning, and AI models.
• Monitor models and diagnose issues involving data limitations, bias, drift, hallucination detection, embeddings, vector search, semantic retrieval, and model assumptions.
• Perform hypothesis testing, prompt engineering, time series analysis, and experimentation measurement.
• Partner with business stakeholders to define requirements and analytical approaches.
• Translate analytical findings into clear recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with analytics engineering and platform teams to integrate solutions into downstream systems and document assumptions, data definitions, and limitations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, computer science, information management, statistics, engineering, or another analytical field.
• At least 3 years of experience working with large databases and performing complex analysis.
• At least 3 years of experience with advanced statistical modeling, machine learning methods, and/or AI models.
• At least 3 years of advanced programming experience in Python and SQL, including complex statistical analysis and building machine learning algorithms or AI applications in cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of relational data concepts, cloud data platforms, and infrastructure such as Snowflake and AWS.
• Knowledge of Excel and Power BI, plus experience using Git for version control.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in an analytical field.
• Experience with pricing optimization, customer segmentation, churn or lifetime value, logistics, route optimization, maintenance optimization, or customer experience analytics.
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code.
