Senior Associate Scientist - Process Development (Vaccines)

Location: On site in Pearl River, New York, United States. Permanent U.S. work authorization is required; U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available.

Annual base salary: $68,600–$114,300, plus eligibility for a 7.5% bonus target.

What you will do

• Optimize cell line development workflows for protein expression, productivity, process efficiency, and biological robustness.
• Execute fermentation experiments and evaluate cell fitness, growth, recovery, protein yield, and purity.
• Analyze experimental data to establish quantitative relationships between DNA sequences and protein yield and quality.
• Collaborate with cell culture, purification, mRNA production, and analytical groups.
• Present experimental data and strategic conclusions in cross-functional meetings.
• Maintain electronic laboratory notebooks and prepare technical, production, and scientific reports.

Requirements

• B.S. degree with 3–5 years of relevant industry or research experience, or an M.S. in bioengineering, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field with 0–3 years of experience.
• Hands-on experience with aseptic cell culture, cell passaging, maintenance, transfection, morphology monitoring, and viability assessment.
• Experience with flow cytometry, cell sorting cytometers, and FlowJo or comparable analysis software.
• Knowledge of DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, ddPCR, RT-PCR, ligation, cloning, transformation, gel electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE, western blot, and ELISA.
• Authorization to work permanently in the United States is required.

Nice to have

• Experience setting up, feeding, sampling, and controlling benchtop or single-use batch and fed-batch bioreactors.
• Hands-on knowledge of NGS sequencing platforms.
