Trim Engineer

Location: Office-based at the Tech Center Queretaro, Mexico; travel required

What you will do

• Develop seat patterns and trim covers from 2D drawings or 3D CAD information.
• Apply basic problem-solving techniques such as BEP, Kepner-Tregoe, or Six Sigma to real-world manufacturing issues.
• Work with trim cover manufacturing processes, standard components, materials, and safety requirements.
• Operate or develop basic proficiency with seat manufacturing equipment, including NC cutters and sewing machines.
• Support change management and bill of materials control.
• Interpret component and product drawings and understand vehicle environments.

Requirements

• Last semester of an engineering, textile, industrial design, or other suitable technical degree.
• None to one year of related experience preferred.
• English at a mid-level conversational ability is required.
• Must work from the office in Queretaro, Mexico.
• Must be able to travel.
• Ability or willingness to develop knowledge of trim cover materials, manufacturing processes, equipment, CAD models, and BOM control.
