Security Engineer (Cloud Security)

Location: Must be based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and work in the office three days per week in a hybrid role. The position includes U.K.-hours coverage and a shared on-call rotation covering nights, weekends, or holidays during the assigned week.

What you will do

• Fine-tune detection and response mechanisms.
• Review customer environments proactively to identify risks, exposed attack surfaces, and security improvements.
• Lead investigations into supply chain, API, malware, and runtime attacks; document findings and develop response playbooks.
• Handle complex and critical incidents escalated from Tier 1 and Tier 2, including live customer engagements.
• Collaborate with analysts, researchers, and backend engineers to improve detection quality.
• Translate security findings into actionable customer recommendations and contribute to AI-driven detection models.

Requirements

• Based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, with availability for hybrid in-office work three days per week.
• Hands-on cybersecurity experience in cloud or cloud security environments.
• Strong knowledge of detection engineering, incident response, threat analysis, and cloud attack techniques.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
• Hands-on Linux experience, plus networking fundamentals and Python or Bash scripting.
• Strong customer-facing communication skills and the ability to remain composed during high-pressure incidents; a computer science or information security degree is advantageous.
