Engineer - IT (Java/React)

What you will do

• Develop end-to-end full-stack solutions across frontend and backend systems.
• Build scalable, secure RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend services.
• Build and maintain high-performance React and Next.js applications, including server-side rendered and SEO-friendly web applications.
• Collaborate with UX and cross-functional teams to deliver consistent, responsive user experiences and complex technical initiatives.
• Manage deployments across Dev, QA, UAT, and Production environments.
• Provide rotational or on-demand production support and help ensure system stability.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Java, preferably Spring Boot, React, Next.js, API-driven development, and scalable RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of SSR, SSG, web performance, accessibility, responsive design, authentication and authorization using OAuth, JWT, or SSO.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, DevOps practices, observability tools, SQL/NoSQL databases, and Git.
• Experience across the full application lifecycle from design and architecture through development and production deployment.
• Ability to work in overlapping time zones with US East Coast teams as required.

Nice to have

• Experience in the US insurance domain, including group benefits, billing, claims, or enrollment.
• Familiarity with insurance platforms or processes related to MetLife, Sun Life, or similar insurers.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or ChatGPT.
