Engineering Manager (CDN/Edge)

Location: Poland, Serbia, Cyprus, or Germany. Hybrid or remote options may be available depending on the role. Work from anywhere in the world is available for up to 45 days per year.

What you will do

• Lead four engineering teams responsible for the CDN control plane, core edge and proxy layer, analytics and logging platform, and DNS and traffic management.
• Own delivery planning, commitments, prioritization, and reporting on a two-week cadence.
• Set technical priorities with Product, Support, and Maintenance while managing stakeholder expectations.
• Own incident response, severity decisions, root-cause analysis, post-incident follow-through, and on-call operations.
• Develop engineers and tech leads through one-to-ones, feedback, growth planning, and hiring.
• Improve planning, quality standards, documentation, service ownership, and adoption of AI tools and approaches.

Requirements

• At least four years of experience leading software engineering teams, including tech leads.
• Production experience with internet infrastructure such as CDN, DNS, reverse proxies, or large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of HTTP caching, nginx behavior, TLS, SNI, and anycast routing.
• Experience owning incident response and post-incident improvements.
• Ability to manage several teams and make clear technical prioritization decisions.
• Experience working with distributed teams across European and Asian working hours.

Nice to have

• Ability to review changes in C, Rust, Go, or Python.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, ClickHouse, or distributed tracing.
• Experience with Kubernetes and bare-metal fleet operations.
• Background at a CDN, DNS or cloud provider, or network operator.
• Experience acting as product owner for platform work.
