Director of Operations, Payments EMEA

Location: Resident in Liechtenstein or Switzerland, with required travel to Liechtenstein and periodic working hours aligned with a US-headquartered group.

Base salary: €150,000–€205,000 annually for employees working from Switzerland.

What you will do

• Act as the primary operational point of contact with the Liechtenstein Financial Market Authority.
• Ensure the licensed entity operates within the scope and conditions of its authorisation.
• Oversee delivery of AIS and PIS services and the relationship with the intra-group technology provider.
• Manage outsourcing governance, service-level monitoring, quarterly reviews, and sub-outsourcing controls.
• Own business continuity, incident management, customer onboarding, support routing, and data governance processes.
• Support Board and executive-management governance, regulatory reporting, statutory audits, and commercial and financial oversight.

Requirements

• Proven operational leadership experience in a regulated financial institution, such as a payment institution, e-money institution, bank, or crypto-asset service provider.
• Experience with the Liechtenstein or wider EEA regulatory environment, including licence applications or regulator engagement.
• Payments experience and understanding of open banking, AIS/PIS, payment operations, and related regulatory obligations.
• Experience with outsourcing governance and licensed entities using intra-group or third-party technology providers.
• Ability to act as a controlling function before the FMA and satisfy its fit-and-proper suitability assessment.
• Willingness to travel to Liechtenstein as required and accommodate periodic US-aligned working hours.
