Mechanical Designer - Tool Engineer (24 Months Contract)

What you will do

• Conceive, design, develop, and update tooling, fixtures, and simple equipment for medical-device manufacturing.
• Design mechanical parts and complex assemblies, including mechanisms, for high-volume manufacturing facilities.
• Provide technical expertise and coordinate internal or external projects and work packages.
• Collaborate with project leaders, process engineers, product-transfer leaders, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate drawing approvals, supplier orders, mechanical requests, and technical documentation.
• Follow quality, health, safety, and environmental standards and report relevant risks or events.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of mechanical design experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience modelling machined parts and assemblies with mechanism connections.
• Knowledge of drawing, dimensioning, and tolerancing according to ISO/ASME standards, including GD&T or ISO GPS.
• Knowledge of metric and US units and material properties of polymers, metals, and ceramics.
• Experience working with high-volume manufacturing constraints.
• Fluent French and English required.

Nice to have

• At least 1 year of experience with PTC Creo Parametric and PLM Windchill.
• Experience in medical-device or machine design and regulated industries such as FDA or ISO 13485 environments.
• Knowledge of additive manufacturing, rapid prototyping, sheet-metal design, injection-moulded parts, or CE machinery directives.
• Design for Reliability and Manufacturability or Lean Six Sigma certification.
