TL;DR
Applications Engineering Intern (Semiconductors): Designing and building characterization setups, PCBs, firmware, graphical interfaces, and automated measurement software for angle, 3D, and current sensors with an accent on electronic design, embedded development, and data processing. Focus on managing measurement campaigns, processing results in Matlab and Python, and creating customer or marketing demos.
Location: Onsite at the MPS Switzerland offices in Tolochenaz, Switzerland

What you will do
- Design and build engineering setups for characterizing angle, 3D, and current sensor products.
- Design printed circuit boards, including schematics, layout, and assembly.
- Develop firmware for different microcontrollers and graphical user interfaces using Python and C++.
- Develop automated measurement software with LabVIEW and Python, manage measurement campaigns, and process data with Matlab and Python.
- Create demonstrations for customers and marketing purposes and provide customer support.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering from an EPF or HES.
- Passion for technology and willingness to learn new engineering skills.
- Familiarity with electronic design, firmware development in C and C++, and data processing with Matlab and Python NumPy.
- French or English speaker with the ability to write in English.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with Python, C++, LabVIEW, Altium, or Cadence.
- Experience with mechanical CAD, especially SolidWorks, and mechanical workshop skills.
- Experience with Qt/PySide2, Matplotlib, Plotly, or Flask.
