Distribution Grid Ops Engineering Intern (Power Systems)

Location: Denver, Colorado, with in-person commuting required under the hybrid work policy. Some field visits may be required, but routine travel is not.

What you will do

• Support Distribution Control Center operations and ADMS software.
• Assist with model tuning and track non-communicating devices.
• Support alarm limits, special projects, and Grid Operations Engineering initiatives.
• Perform entry-level engineering analysis for outage coordination, power flow studies, and power system monitoring.
• Work with engineering staff while gaining practical power system operations experience and mentorship.

Requirements

• Current college student at the freshman level or higher as of Fall 2027.
• Enrolled in an ABET-accredited college or university and pursuing an engineering degree; electrical engineering is preferred but not required.
• Able to commute to the designated Denver work location and work in person under the hybrid policy.
• Able to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer and up to 20 hours per week during the school year.
• Willingness to learn and ask questions.
