Electrical Engineering Intern (Power Systems)

Location: On-site in Boise, Idaho, United States. Full-time during the summer and part-time during the school year.

Pay: $24.25–$33.00 per hour, based on the internship role and year in school.

What you will do

• Provide technical support to internal staff and customers.
• Test new and existing electrical technologies, tools, and systems.
• Assist with electrical enclosure and test rack creation.
• Develop simulators and test customer protection and automation systems.
• Support HMI creation, PLC programming, power system studies, and SEL relay settings.
• Research new tools and technologies and document technical work.

Requirements

• Current student pursuing Electrical Engineering or an equivalent degree, with at least one year of technical coursework completed.
• Expected graduation in May or December 2028.
• Ability to work on-site in Boise, ID full-time during the summer and part-time during the school year.
• Experience with programming and script files, MS Windows, and serial port terminal emulation software.
• Practical knowledge of three-phase power systems and working knowledge of emulators and logic analyzers.
• Strong writing, documentation, speaking, learning, and teamwork skills; satisfactory background check and negative drug test results required.
