TL;DR
Distribution Modeling and Analytics Intern (Electrical Engineering/Data Analytics): Developing and maintaining electrical circuit models for distribution-grid planning and analysis with an accent on model accuracy, automation, data quality, and grid modernization. Focus on validating SCADA data, performing power systems and hosting capacity analysis, and analyzing time-series utility data.

Location: Denver, CO 80205; in-person commuting is required under the hybrid work policy

Salary: $21.20–$23.20 per hour

What you will do

  • Support the Electric Distribution Modeling & Analytics team.
  • Develop and maintain electrical circuit models for distribution-grid planning and analysis.
  • Validate and analyze SCADA measurement data.
  • Contribute to utility planning, power systems modeling, and hosting capacity analysis.
  • Analyze time-series data and improve model accuracy, automation, and data quality.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and present work to senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Current junior-level student or higher as of Fall 2027, enrolled in an ABET-accredited college or university.
  • Pursuing Electrical Engineering, preferably with a power systems focus, or Computer Science & Data Analytics.
  • Able to work full-time during the summer, up to 40 hours per week, and part-time during the school year, up to 20 hours per week.
  • Ability to commute to the designated Denver work location in person.
  • Experience or proficiency with Python or data analysis tools.
  • Completion of at least one circuits course is preferred.

Nice to have

  • Electrical Engineering degree path.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
