Area Engineering Intern (Electrical Engineering)

Location: Amarillo, Texas, United States; commuting to the designated work location in person under the hybrid work policy

Salary: $21.20–$24.60 per hour

What you will do

• Support electric distribution reliability and outage investigations, including CEMI/DEMI analysis.
• Assist with protection and coordination studies for distribution feeders and equipment.
• Support capital project development and distribution system improvement initiatives.
• Participate in field visits to substations, distribution facilities, and construction projects.
• Use utility engineering software and databases to evaluate system performance and operating conditions.
• Collaborate with engineers and technical staff to solve electric utility challenges.

Requirements

• Current sophomore-level student or higher.
• Enrolled in an ABET-accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Available to work full-time during the summer, up to 40 hours per week, and part-time during the school year, up to 20 hours per week.
• Available to commute to the designated work location in person.
• Start date: May 24, 2027.
