Data Scientist Intern (Machine Learning)

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota, with in-person commuting required under the hybrid work policy. The position is associated with MN and CO and starts May 24, 2027.

Salary: $22.10–$27.90 per hour

What you will do

• Deliver analytics projects with guidance from senior team members.
• Design and optimize business processes and data flows within Databricks/XDF architecture.
• Develop data products, ETL workflows, applications, and model inputs and outputs.
• Support rate and cost analysis, ad hoc analytics, and modeling initiatives.
• Integrate enterprise data platforms and partner with business teams across resource planning, distribution, transmission, and gas operations.
• Communicate analytical findings and recommendations.

Requirements

• Current graduate student enrolled in an accredited college or university.
• Pursuing a degree in data science, computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, analytics, operations research, engineering, information systems, or a related field.
• Must be able to commute to the designated work location in person under the hybrid work policy.
• Available to work up to 40 hours per week during summer and up to 20 hours per week during the school year.
• Knowledge of Python, SQL, Git, and cloud-based analytics tooling.

Nice to have

• Coursework in machine learning, statistical modeling, data structures and algorithms, database systems, data engineering, cloud computing, optimization, time series analysis, operations research, or predictive analytics.
• Experience with Python, PyTorch, and PySpark.
