Data Science / Structured Problem Solving Intern - Summer 2027

Location: Austin, United States; office-based.

What you will do

• Partner with Manufacturing Quality Engineering, Fab Operations, business lines, and support organizations on continuous improvement solutions.
• Complete engineering and analytical problem-solving projects under Quality and Operations Engineering direction.
• Apply a Six Sigma structured problem-solving approach to optimize quality solutions.
• Participate in fab-to-fab standardization and improvement activities, including work with external manufacturing sites in the local area.
• Participate in machine learning and AI projects related to quality improvement.
• Own one high-business-impact project, including its research, analysis, and presentation to organizational leadership.

Requirements

• Currently working toward a Bachelor of Science or advanced degree in Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or Computer Science.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Strong data analysis, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Aptitude and desire to learn new skills.
• Ability to thrive in a multicultural environment.
• Must be returning to school or graduating at the conclusion of the summer internship term; candidates graduating before July 2027 should apply to entry-level full-time roles instead.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with integrated circuit manufacturing or design.
• Coursework in advanced statistics and data science.
• Strong programming skills in R or Python.
