Quantitative Researcher - Intern [2027 Summer] (AI)

Location: Hybrid work policy with the 10-week summer internship taking place at the Soho-based office in New York, United States; flexible in-office days are available.

Salary: $5,800 per week, with the amount applying across bachelor's, master's, and PhD degree levels; additional compensation and benefits may apply.

What you will do

• Use the scientific method to develop sophisticated investment models and improve understanding of market behavior.
• Apply quantitative techniques, including machine learning, to large and varied datasets.
• Create and test complex investment ideas and partner with engineers to validate theories.
• Work with an assigned mentor on one project throughout the internship and deliver a final presentation.
• Participate in reading circles and academic seminars to engage with current research and academic leaders.

Requirements

• Pursue a technical or quantitative degree in statistics, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related discipline, with approximately one year remaining; bachelor's through doctorate students are welcome.
• Demonstrate intermediate skills in at least one programming language, such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
• Complete an in-depth research project involving real-world data.
• Think independently, approach data analysis creatively, and communicate complex ideas clearly.

Nice to have

• Background in finance is helpful but not required.
