Sr Lead, Cloud Security Engineering (Cybersecurity)

Location: Chicago, IL, United States. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employment-based visa sponsorship.

Salary: $114,500–$194,700 USD annually, plus potential discretionary bonus and equity component.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and support security measures for third-party, open-source, and native cloud platforms, focusing on AWS and Azure.
• Develop Policy as Code and Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, aligning security policies with CIS and NIST 800-53 frameworks.
• Implement and operate CSPM tools including Wiz and Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
• Partner with security champions across business units and contribute to the cloud security roadmap.
• Conduct cloud configuration assessments, audits, and reviews.
• Investigate security incidents, perform root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience engineering or developing in public cloud environments.
• At least 5 years of experience as an engineer, developer, or architect in IT, preferably cybersecurity, with 8–12 years of total IT experience.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code expertise with Terraform and proficiency in Python or Python-based DevOps tooling.
• Experience with Git-based version control, CI/CD processes, integrated testing tools, and cloud-native architectures.
• Deep understanding of cloud security and integrating security into development workflows.
• U.S. work authorization is required; employment-based visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with privileged access management and identity systems such as Azure Entra, Okta, or Ping.
• Azure Security Engineer Associate, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, CISSP, or CCSP certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field.
