Staff Application Engineer (High Voltage GaN)

Location: Taipei, Taiwan; onsite role with no remote work available

What you will do

• Support customer design-in activities for 650V/700V high-voltage GaN products.
• Develop and validate evaluation boards and reference designs for AC-DC, PFC, LLC, DC-DC, UPS, solar inverter, server, and industrial power applications.
• Optimize efficiency, thermal performance, EMI, switching behavior, gate driving, and overall system performance.
• Review customer schematics, layouts, and power architectures and troubleshoot application and field issues.
• Support customers in Taiwan through design, prototyping, validation, and production, including demonstrations, training, and technical presentations.
• Create application notes, design guides, evaluation reports, and reference design documentation while collaborating with sales, marketing, engineering, and R&D teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 8–12 years of experience in power electronics and power conversion applications.
• Experience with high-voltage GaN, SiC power systems, server power supplies, UPS, solar inverters, EV charging, or industrial power supplies.
• Hands-on experience with AC-DC power conversion, PFC, LLC, DC-DC converters, and high-frequency switching systems.
• Strong customer-facing and communication skills.
• Fluent English communication skills are required.
