Software Development Engineer in Test (Java/JavaScript)

Location: Washington, DC; U.S. citizenship required for DHS Suitability clearance.

Salary: $100,000–$120,000 annually.

What you will do

• Design and develop system test automation scripts using Selenium, Protractor, Jasmine, Cucumber, or equivalent tools.
• Plan and estimate test automation solutions by analyzing existing architectures and test platforms and defining growth and expansion approaches.
• Design detailed automated tests and integrate test platforms across distributed systems.
• Collaborate with business analysts and developers to elaborate requirements for Acceptance Test Driven Development.
• Review acceptance criteria and Gherkin scripts, create integration and regression scenarios and test cases, manage test data, and generate reports.
• Improve automation frameworks through parallel processing and grid systems, and establish metrics for product quality, testing quality, and engineering feedback.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship required for DHS Suitability clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of experience in manual functional and regression testing, including preparation of relevant test cases.
• At least 5 years of experience with one or more of Selenium Grid/WebDriver, Protractor/Jasmine, Cucumber/Gherkin, JUnit, TestNG, and GitHub/Bitbucket.
• Strong programming and scripting experience with Java and JavaScript, plus a strong interest in testing.
• At least 9 years of experience in test automation, including planning, assessments, script development, and maintenance; cloud-environment experience is preferred.
• Experience with databases, data formats, and related testing technologies.
• Experience with Agile and Scrum development methodologies.
• Experience testing UI/UX best practices and Section 508 compliance.
• Knowledge of management tools such as JIRA Platform, Serena Business Manager, and/or HP Quality Center.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
