Staff Software Engineer (Python)

What you will do

• Own the technologies and processes powering the Python-based B2B marketplace and partner-facing services.
• Drive large-scale technical initiatives and solve complex problems across high-throughput backend services.
• Design and implement system-level solutions with architects and cross-functional teams.
• Define engineering standards for testing, service boundaries, code quality, observability, and maintainability.
• Review code, reduce technical debt, and write code for the most complex and business-critical work.
• Mentor engineers and support their growth across distributed onshore and offshore teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and FastAPI or a comparable asynchronous web framework.
• Experience building and maintaining high-throughput backend services and APIs at scale.
• Deep understanding of software engineering best practices, testing, code review, and technical debt management.
• Familiarity with SQLAlchemy, Celery, Redis, Kafka, Postgres, Datadog, Grafana, Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, GitHub, and AWS services including RDS, ElastiCache, CloudSearch, EKS, and MSK.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of live ticket sales or experience in a fast-paced industry.
• Experience mentoring and leading onshore and offshore teams.
• Interest in developing engineers and shaping team culture without requiring a formal management track.
