Assistant Director, Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP)

Location: Full-time onsite at the Carlsbad campus headquarters in California, United States

Salary: $115,000–$141,000 per year

What you will do

• Partner with Global Product Strategy & Operations leaders across Commercial, Medical Affairs, New Product Strategy, and Insights & Analytics.
• Support workforce planning, organization design, role clarity, capability planning, and retention strategies.
• Coach leaders on performance, feedback, development, employee engagement, and difficult conversations.
• Advise on employee relations, policy interpretation, workplace conduct, investigations, and compliant decision-making.
• Support reorganizations, product launches, commercialization milestones, business transformation, and workforce transitions.
• Use workforce data and HR metrics to develop practical recommendations and coordinate delivery with specialist HR teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 8 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree, or at least 6 years with a master’s degree.
• Broad HR Business Partner experience across talent, performance, employee relations, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness.
• Experience advising leaders in complex, matrixed, and changing organizations.
• Strong coaching, facilitation, communication, influencing, analytical, and relationship-building skills.
• Genuine enthusiasm for working full-time onsite at the Carlsbad campus headquarters.

Nice to have

• Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, or healthcare organizations.
• Experience supporting commercial, medical affairs, product strategy, market insights, or analytics functions.
• Experience with product launches, organizational growth, operating-model change, HRIS, workforce analytics, compensation, or job leveling.
• Master’s degree or HR certification such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR.
