Scientist, Discovery Pharmacology

Location: Bridgewater, New Jersey, United States; full-time, in-person presence required.

What you will do

• Advance drug discovery programs from target validation through candidate selection.
• Culture, maintain, and characterize primary cells and mammalian cell lines for in vitro and ex vivo assays.
• Develop, optimize, validate, and execute cell-based and functional assay cascades to assess compound activity, efficacy, selectivity, and off-target potential.
• Perform neutrophil functional assays, including NET formation and flow cytometry-based assays, as well as fluorescence microscopy and quantitative image analysis.
• Design mechanism-of-action studies using gene expression profiling and protein-based analytical platforms.
• Analyze in vivo study samples using flow cytometry, ELISA, Western blotting, imaging assays, statistics, and data visualization.

Requirements

• PhD with at least 2 years of experience, or MS with at least 7 years of experience, in immunology, molecular and cellular biology, or a related field.
• Strong expertise in innate immunity, particularly neutrophil biology.
• Hands-on experience with primary and mammalian cell culture and development and execution of in vitro assays.
• Hands-on expertise in fluorescence microscopy, confocal microscopy, and high-content imaging systems.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, organization, time-management, and data-quality skills.
• Ability to work full-time in person at the Bridgewater, NJ office.

Nice to have

• Experience conducting NET formation assays in primary cells.
• Familiarity with respiratory, immune-mediated, or autoimmune diseases.
• Recognized writing or presentation skills.
