Head of Product Design (Fintech)

What you will do

• Lead a global product design organization of more than 40 people across Spend Management, Business Accounts, Payments, Billing, Platform, Growth, and Design Systems.
• Scale design practices, quality standards, systems, and culture across the organization.
• Hire, develop, retain, and calibrate senior designers and design leaders while expanding the San Francisco design studio.
• Partner with the Chief Product Officer on product experience strategy.
• Own the design budget, including contractors, tooling, learning, research, travel, and team building.
• Steward and evolve the design organization’s operating principles as it grows.

Requirements

• Exceptional product and UX judgment, including interaction patterns, information architecture, layout, and UX copy.
• Generalist UX background with strong product sensibilities and the ability to articulate design decisions.
• Proven success attracting, hiring, closing, and calibrating exceptional designers and design leaders.
• Experience working in fintech or another comparably complex product domain.
• Experience managing senior design leaders across regions and time zones, including calibration, promotion, and organizational design.
• Executive-level fluency with OKRs, headcount planning, budgets, and leadership-team collaboration.
