Senior FPGA Engineer II

Location: Tucson, Arizona, United States; regular onsite presence and commuting to buildings required

What you will do

• Work with the hardware design team to define and refine requirements.
• Design, code, simulate, synthesize, implement, and test FPGA logic.
• Support hardware and software teams during product bring-up and testing.
• Develop automated tests and provide FPGA design expertise to customers and production support.
• Research specifications, datasheets, and manuals to determine design approaches and feasibility.
• Debug designs in the laboratory and perform timing analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
• 8+ years of experience writing FPGA firmware from scratch in VHDL.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
• Eligibility to work on U.S. Government space technology subject to ITAR requirements, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, qualifying refugee or asylum status, or required government authorization.
• Ability to commute to buildings and perform regular onsite work, including prolonged sitting, standing, walking, and computer work.

Nice to have

• Experience with Xilinx/AMD Versal architecture, radiation-tolerant FPGA and embedded systems, and SEU/SEL mitigation.
• Experience with FPGA- or ASIC-based image processing, RTL IP development, and integration of existing IP.
• Familiarity with C, Python, MATLAB, interrupts, DMA, DDR4, Aurora, high-speed transceivers, AXI interfaces, and PCB design tools such as Altium Designer.
