Founding Software Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in New York, New York, United States; in-person attendance is required and remote work is not available.

Salary: $137,000–$190,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Define product requirements, build features, and iterate with founders based on customer feedback.
• Build core infrastructure, including APIs, backend systems, and interfaces for human users and AI agents.
• Develop and deploy production-ready AI features supporting end-to-end go-to-market workflows.
• Join customer meetings, demonstrate solutions, and translate customer needs into product improvements.
• Use AI tooling and coding agents to accelerate development while applying sound engineering judgment.
• Establish AI-native engineering workflows that improve team velocity.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software engineering experience and a track record of shipping production software.
• Strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript for APIs, backend systems, and user interfaces.
• Solid data modeling fundamentals and experience designing scalable systems.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying AI- or LLM-based features in production.
• Comfort using AI coding agents as a daily development tool.
• Ability to work on-site in New York with in-person attendance.

Nice to have

• Experience working in an early-stage startup with direct founder collaboration.
• Experience with go-to-market workflows, outbound campaigns, or customer-facing technical work.
