Senior Insurance Wording Expert (Insurance Contracts)

Location: Paris, France; hybrid work with at least three days per week in the office

Salary: €74,000–€110,000 annual base salary for a full-time role, plus performance-based variable compensation.

What you will do

• Draft and develop French insurance forms, clauses, and policy wordings for complex commercial risks.
• Review third-party manuscript wordings, identify contractual risks, and assess compliance with internal guidelines.
• Advise underwriters and stakeholders on policy wording and contractual matters.
• Partner with underwriting teams on complex transactions and wording negotiations.
• Conduct contract reviews and audits, monitor market developments, and identify emerging trends.
• Deliver training and act as a subject matter expert on French-market policy wording standards.

Requirements

• Native-level French proficiency required.
• At least seven years of relevant experience in underwriting, claims, insurance contracts, policy wording, legal, or related insurance functions.
• Strong knowledge of commercial insurance principles and policy wordings across lines such as Engineering and Construction, Property, General Liability, or Financial and Professional Lines.
• Legal aptitude, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to analyze complex contractual language and identify risks.
• Experience collaborating with underwriters and business stakeholders, influencing discussions, negotiating wording solutions, and communicating clearly.

• Insurance and/or legal qualification.
• Engineering and Construction industry expertise.
• Exposure to international insurance markets.
• Proficiency in additional European languages.
