Director, Major Projects (EPC and CCGT Construction Utility Projects)

Location: Tulsa, OK; on-site at the assigned project location during project execution

Salary: $188,524–$245,080 per year, plus incentive compensation and benefits

What you will do

• Direct end-to-end execution of major new-generation projects with capital budgets of $1B–$10B.
• Lead project safety, integrated scheduling, budget, contingency, forecasting, change management, and risk mitigation.
• Develop commercial and contracting strategies and oversee EPC, engineering, contractor, and vendor agreements.
• Manage regulatory approvals, environmental permitting, utility commission requirements, and compliance with NERC, FERC, RTO, and other applicable standards.
• Build and lead project teams while managing employees, consultants, staff augmentation, contractors, suppliers, regulators, utilities, and landowners.
• Deliver construction safely, on schedule, and within the approved investment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, project management, accounting, finance, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of qualified experience, including work in two or more areas such as major construction projects, project management, commissioning, project controls, generation, or contract negotiations.
• PMP certification and a valid state driver’s license.
• Progressive leadership experience, strong business acumen, strategic planning, risk management, conflict resolution, delegation, and decision-making skills.
• Must work on location at the project being overseen for the duration of project execution.
• Ability to perform construction-site walkdowns, climb ladders, work around hazardous conditions, and support work at power plants and construction sites.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in business, engineering, project management, finance, accounting, or construction management.
• Experience with utility generation, CCGT, EPC execution models, heavy industrial construction, or generation interconnection agreements.
• Experience with air permits, environmental applications, federal and state agencies, utility commissions, and regional organizations such as PJM, MISO, SPP, or ERCOT.
• Experience with executive communications, commercial strategy, direct supervision, and project financing.
