Accounting Manager (Defense)

Location: Must be based in Arlington, VA (On-site)

Salary: $125,000 – $165,000 base salary

What you will do

• Own all accounting functions, from daily workflows to annual financial reporting.
• Implement and optimize automated financial processes to support rapid scaling.
• Prepare the company for future audits and ensure ongoing compliance.
• Manage relationships with external partners including tax, bookkeeping, and government auditors.
• Develop internal procurement and expense policies while supporting cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required due to government contract and security requirements.
• 2 to 6 years of experience in Big 4 audit or high-growth technology startups.
• Expertise in implementing and managing modern financial systems (ERP, spend management, payroll).
• Mastery of Excel and Google Sheets.
• Ability to thrive in unstructured, high-growth environments.

Nice to have

• Current or former CPA certification.
• Experience with DCAA compliance and government contracts.
• Background in defense or cybersecurity industries.
• Familiarity with Campfire and Ramp platforms.
