Robot Data Collection Lead (Robotics)

Location: Fully onsite at the Northlake office in Seattle, Washington, United States. The role supports two shifts: 8:00am–4:00pm and 4:00pm–11:00pm.

Salary: $125,000–$145,000 annual base salary, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Hire, onboard, train, coach, and manage 16–20 hourly data collectors across two shifts.
• Maintain staffing through seasonal and academic-calendar changes, and run shift huddles, handoffs, and recaps.
• Own weekly data quantity and quality targets, define operational measurements, and set individual and shift goals.
• Translate AI Research requirements into collection protocols and communicate operational feedback to research and engineering leadership.
• Write and maintain SOPs, training materials, onboarding processes, and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot onsite operations, reduce downtime, manage schedules and labor costs, and enforce robotics safety policies.

Requirements

• 3+ years of directly leading hourly employees, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.
• Experience supervising a multi-shift operation against recurring output targets and defining operational metrics.
• Ability to discuss technical topics with engineers and research scientists and translate requirements for non-specialist teams.
• Experience writing SOPs, training materials, and quality standards.
• Ability to work across both shifts as needed, with strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work fully onsite in Seattle, Washington.

Nice to have

• Experience with robot teleoperation, demonstration data collection, or comparable data-generation operations.
• Familiarity with robotics hardware, manipulation, or machine learning data pipelines.
• Experience working with research scientists or ML teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering, Robotics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Experience establishing a new site, team, or process.
