Operations Manager (AI)

Location: Must be based in San Francisco (On-site)

Compensation: $150,000 – $225,000 (plus equity and performance-based bonuses)

What you will do

• Manage and coordinate highly specialized expert teams across domains like finance, engineering, and law.
• Design dataset specifications that directly influence the evaluation and improvement of frontier AI models.
• Drive high-impact projects from scoping and execution to delivery in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborate with leading AI organizations to build next-generation data solutions.
• Support diverse operational initiatives to scale the business and improve internal processes.

Requirements

• PhD (completed or ABD) in a STEM field or equivalent demonstrated excellence in competitive academic/technical arenas (e.g., IOI, IMO, Putnam).
• Background in scientific research, computational modeling, or quantitative/statistical analysis.
• Strong quantitative reasoning and systems-level thinking.
• High agency, strong work ethic, and ability to thrive in ambiguous situations.
• Must be able to work on-site in San Francisco.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python or R for data analysis.
• Familiarity with LLM training, fine-tuning, or evaluation workflows.
• Demonstrated competitive success in research or technical fields.
