Head of Data Supply Chain (Robotics)

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end external data supply chain, including sourcing, standing up, and managing data collection and annotation partners.
• Translate complex research requirements into clear, actionable specifications for non-technical execution partners.
• Manage commercial mechanics, including pricing structures, SOWs, and unit economics to ensure high-quality data delivery.
• Scale partnerships into a network across new geographies and data modalities as research needs evolve.
• Establish operating cadences, trackers, and reviews to maintain visibility into cost, volume, and quality.
• Travel periodically to partner sites and collection operations to oversee performance.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in supply chain, vendor management, or data operations with a proven track record of managing external partners.
• Demonstrated ability to stand up new vendors from zero, including selection, diligence, and contracting.
• Exceptional written communication skills to create unambiguous instructions for remote execution teams.
• Strong commercial judgment regarding pricing, rate cards, and acceptance criteria.
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in San Francisco Bay Area (San Mateo) or Boston (Somerville).

Nice to have

• Experience managing data collection, annotation, or labeling at scale (managed workforce, crowd, or BPO).
• Background in robotics, autonomous vehicles, or hardware domains.
• Experience working closely with ML or research organizations.
