HPC & AI Performance Engineer (HPC/AI)

Location: United States; hybrid work with an average of 2 days per week from an HPE office

Salary: USD 62,900–145,300 annual base salary in Minnesota; variable incentives may also be offered.

What you will do

• Complete short- and long-term benchmarking projects on large-scale HPC systems using emerging technologies.
• Analyze HPC I/O, standard application, and scientific application benchmark performance.
• Assess HPC architecture and estimate performance for future HPE and competitive systems.
• Identify optimization opportunities, define action plans, and coordinate benchmark improvements.
• Apply parallel processing, memory management, profiling, and performance optimization techniques across HPE HPC and AI systems.

Requirements

• Experience with HPC storage benchmarks, profiling tools, or HPC software; coursework and internships are considered relevant.
• Knowledge of processor, accelerator, memory, and software technologies and their impact on HPC benchmarks.
• Understanding of parallel programming techniques and algorithms.
• Experience optimizing computational application performance on Linux-based HPC systems.
• Expertise with C++, C, Fortran, OpenMP, MPI, MPI-IO, Python, Linux scripting, CUDA, and HIP.
• Master’s degree in a technical field required; PhD preferred. Mastery of English required.
