Associate Scientist, Potency Assay Development (Gene Therapy)

What you will do

• Develop, optimize, and qualify cell-based potency assays for AAV, siRNA, and antibody-oligonucleotide conjugate programs.
• Execute qPCR, ELISA, Western blot, cell-based, and molecular assays with strong attention to reproducibility.
• Maintain adherent and non-adherent mammalian cell cultures, including engineered and stable cell lines.
• Operate flow cytometers, plate readers, and automated laboratory systems to generate assay data.
• Analyze results using statistical methods and document experiments, conclusions, and decisions in the electronic lab notebook.
• Support preclinical sample testing, assay troubleshooting, cross-functional presentations, and transfer of qualified assays to GMP laboratories.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of relevant laboratory experience, or a Master's degree with 0–2 years of experience.
• Hands-on experience with cell-based assays, preferably potency assays.
• Experience with qPCR, ELISA, and CE-Western blotting.
• Strong mammalian cell culture skills and the ability to execute experiments independently.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple workflows in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work onsite in Tarrytown, New York.

Nice to have

• Experience measuring mRNA expression with qPCR and developing luciferase reporter-based assays.
• Experience with immunofluorescence staining, imaging-based assay readouts, automated imaging, or plate-based analytical platforms.
• Experience using GraphPad Prism for data analysis.
