Bioassay Scientist - Flow Cytometry

Location: Boston, MA, USA; candidates must live within a commutable distance of Boston. Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with occasional weekend work.

Salary: $35.00–$41.00 per hour, based on education and related experience.

What you will do

• Develop and execute bioanalytical assays for process development, in-process testing, and lot release.
• Perform flow cytometry, cell counting, dPCR/qPCR, ELISA, and cell-based bioassays.
• Optimize assay specificity, sensitivity, precision, accuracy, and linearity.
• Support assay qualification and lifecycle management, including troubleshooting assay and instrument issues.
• Document experiments and protocols in electronic laboratory notebooks such as Benchling.
• Collaborate with Process Development, R&D, Quality, bioprocessing, formulation, and data science groups.

Requirements

• BS in Biology or a related field with at least 3 years of experience in drug development laboratories, or an MS with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience with bioanalytical methods, including flow cytometry; four- to six-color flow cytometry experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in mammalian cell culture techniques.
• Ability to troubleshoot experiments, interpret results, and present conclusions effectively.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate in a matrixed environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with dPCR/qPCR, ELISA, glucose-stimulated insulin release, and live-cell plate assays.
• Experience with iPSC differentiation and iPSC-derived cells.
• Experience improving assay throughput with multi-color flow cytometry, automated liquid handlers, and plate-based sample preparation.
• Experience with method development and qualification, GraphPad Prism, FlowJo, Benchling, SharePoint, or Veeva.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and ICH guidelines.
