Instrumentation and Controls Engineer (Mineral Processing)

Location: On-site in Houston, TX; San Francisco headquarters

What you will do

• Lead equipment and plant-wide instrumentation and controls scopes from concept and modeling validation through procurement, installation, commissioning, ramp, and operational handover.
• Manage equipment providers, technology licensors, and engineering firms delivering integrated mineral-refining systems.
• Lead cross-functional scale-up of novel mineral-refining processes with laboratory, pilot-plant, process, and project engineers.
• Select, procure, calibrate, and install instruments, valves, and analyzers.
• Support machine-learning applications for industrial control and optimization.
• Help automate capital-project execution workflows and develop advanced plant-control algorithms while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of direct instrumentation-engineering experience.
• Strong instrumentation and controls fundamentals, including measurement technology evaluation, instrument specification, procurement, detailed design, calibration, startup support, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with analyzers, P&ID reviews, instrumentation deliverables, field inspections, QA/QC, and construction-team interfaces.
• Experience programming control systems and HMIs.
• Background in industrial manufacturing, mining or mineral processing, chemical production, or engineering, procurement, and construction environments.
• Experience leading engineers and technicians and executing medium- to large-scale capital projects exceeding $5 million.
