Software Engineer II - Partner Identity & Access Management - ABU (Auth0)

What you will do

• Build, operate, and evolve backend services that broker authentication between partner systems and the identity provider.
• Deliver phased migration of partner authentication from the legacy Perl stack to Auth0, including coexistence, dual-write, reconciliation, staged rollout, and rollback strategies.
• Read, debug, and safely modify long-lived Perl services that continue to serve production authentication traffic.
• Configure and extend Auth0 authentication and authorization flows, including tenants, applications, connections, directories, tokens, sessions, and custom pipeline logic.
• Investigate login incidents and anomalies across services, identity infrastructure, edge systems, and partner integrations, and drive root-cause fixes.
• Instrument authentication flows, define login-health metrics, support controlled experiments, and participate in on-call.

Requirements

• Professional backend engineering experience building and operating production services at scale with Java and Perl.
• Hands-on experience delivering customer identity and access management for external users such as partners, merchants, or customers.
• Practical production experience with Auth0, including authentication pipelines, user stores, token and session design, and operational management.
• Experience migrating authentication between identity providers on live traffic, including staged rollout, user or credential migration, coexistence, and rollback.
• Strong knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, and session management, along with cloud deployment, observability, alerting, and incident response.
• Clear written and spoken English, with the ability to document incidents, write designs, and explain identity concepts to non-specialists.

Nice to have

• Experience with A/B testing on authentication or funnel-critical paths and with bot, automation, and abuse traffic.
• Experience with mobile authentication, machine-to-machine authentication, or API authentication for third-party integrators.
• Exposure to AI-assisted engineering workflows and agentic software development tools.
