Accounting Analyst - Revenue Recognition

Location: Heredia, Costa Rica; hybrid role with a fully remote work opportunity

What you will do

• Oversee monthly revenue recognition activities and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Review contracts and transactions to determine revenue timing, allocation, accruals, deferrals, and adjustments.
• Complete month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, balance sheet reviews, database updates, forecasting support, and revenue reporting.
• Analyze revenue trends, movements, and variances across financial and operational systems.
• Partner with Sales, Finance, Billing, and other stakeholders to resolve revenue recognition and transaction accounting issues.
• Support audits and process improvement through standardization, control enhancements, reporting improvements, and automation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of progressive experience in Accounting, Finance, or Revenue Recognition.
• Advanced English proficiency required.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with financial systems and tools such as Oracle, OBIEE, Hyperion, or SmartView.
• Understanding of revenue recognition principles, financial transactions, month-end close, and accounting treatments.
• Experience investigating revenue variances and presenting complex financial information to different stakeholders.
