Principal Forward Deployed Engineer — Payments Migration

Salary: $261,500–$353,500 per year, plus potential cash bonus, equity rewards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the technical relationship with strategic customers migrating payment processing to hirify.global from discovery through cutover and stabilization.
• Design and execute migrations of payment data, stored payment methods, tokens, and transaction history from Stripe, Braintree, PayPal, Square, and Adyen.
• Lead partner integrations of QB Payments and QB Invoicing as a hands-on technical expert.
• Architect multi-entity payment structures, complex reconciliation, token migration, refunds, chargebacks, deposit reconciliation, and cash-flow workflows.
• Build reusable migration tooling and playbooks to reduce risk and accelerate future migrations.
• Debug production issues across API, ledger, and reconciliation layers and travel to customer or partner sites as needed.

Requirements

• Deep hands-on expertise with payment APIs, integrations, and fintech systems.
• Direct experience migrating payments to or from processors such as Stripe, Braintree, PayPal, Square, or Adyen.
• Knowledge of multi-entity payment structures, complex reconciliation, payment token migration, refunds, chargebacks, and deposit reconciliation.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including forward-deployed, solutions engineering, or customer- or partner-facing technical work.
• Ability to own strategic technical relationships and communicate migration risks and tradeoffs to engineering and business stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel to customer and partner sites as needed.

Nice to have

• Experience building payment integrations from the platform or payment service provider side.
• Familiarity with PCI compliance, tokenization standards, and network tokens.
• Experience with multi-sided marketplaces or embedded finance products.
