Infrastructure Automation Engineer (Python)

Location: 100% remote within the United States

What you will do

• Build production-grade automation for network configuration, change management, and observability across multi-vendor enterprise networks.
• Develop Python-based automation using modern network APIs, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD practices.
• Work with product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to translate ambiguous requirements into reliable solutions.
• Review code and designs while mentoring more junior engineers.
• Deliver automation that is tested, maintainable, and resilient in production environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Networking, or a related field.
• At least five years of network automation experience and six or more years of overall experience.
• Strong Python development skills, including object-oriented programming, testing, and packaging.
• Deep networking knowledge covering routing, switching, and BGP.
• Hands-on experience with Netmiko, NAPALM, Nornir, or Scrapli; NETCONF, RESTCONF, or gNMI; and Ansible with Jinja2.
• Experience with source-of-truth platforms, Git-based workflows, CI/CD, and cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to have

• Cisco DevNet or vendor automation certifications.
• Experience with Cisco, Arista, and Juniper multi-vendor networks.
• Knowledge of streaming telemetry, modern observability stacks, or open-source network automation projects.
• Cloud networking automation experience in addition to on-premises environments.
