What you will do

• Assist with the architecture, design, implementation, and integration of FPGA-based firmware.
• Translate system and signal-processing requirements into digital hardware and FPGA implementations.
• Collaborate with systems, electrical hardware, software, and test engineers to troubleshoot simulation, board, and system-level issues.
• Contribute to design reviews and engineering documentation, including design descriptions, user manuals, and interface control documents.
• Develop test software, scripts, and procedures to verify FPGA functionality and support laboratory testing.
• Follow processes for source control, configuration management, peer review, and defect tracking.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related technical field.
• 0–5 years of experience developing and implementing firmware designs.
• Familiarity with at least one hardware description language, such as VHDL or Verilog.
• Understanding of synchronous logic, finite-state machines, pipelining, clock domains, reset strategies, and timing.
• Familiarity with FPGAs, FPGA development, configuration management tools, and engineering scripting or analysis tools such as MATLAB or Python.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with AMD/Xilinx FPGA and SoC devices and the Vivado Design Suite.
• Experience developing support firmware for hardware debugging and testing.
• Experience with high-speed digital architectures or embedded software.
• Familiarity with Git and laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
