PLM/PDM Systems Architect (SOLIDWORKS PDM)

What you will do

• Administer the SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional environment, including servers, vault configuration, replication, backups, upgrades, and licensing.
• Design data cards, workflows, revision schemes, permissions, and engineering release and change-control processes.
• Govern CAD and product-data standards, including part numbering, file naming, templates, Toolbox management, and custom properties.
• Maintain PDM integration with Odoo so item masters, engineering BOMs, revisions, and released drawings reach manufacturing without manual re-entry.
• Automate administration and data movement using Dispatch, scripting, and PDM and Odoo APIs.
• Partner with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to expand the systems stack toward MES, quality management, and serialized traceability.

Requirements

• 5+ years administering PDM or PLM systems in a hardware engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Deep hands-on experience with SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional, including workflows, data cards, permissions, and Dispatch.
• Ownership of engineering release and change-control processes, including ECR/ECO workflows, effectivity, and revision control.
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP manufacturing data, including item masters, BOMs, and routings.
• Scripting or light development experience with Python, C#/.NET, or SQL, plus REST or XML-RPC APIs.
• Experience translating requirements from engineers and production staff into system configuration.

Nice to have

• Experience with Odoo or another ERP/MRP implementation, integration, or migration.
• Experience evaluating or deploying MES or electronic quality management platforms.
• Background in rail, aerospace, automotive, or another environment requiring serialized traceability and configuration control.
• Experience with SOLIDWORKS Manage, broader PLM migrations, IT infrastructure, or startup environments.
