Senior User Interface Visual Designer (Automotive)

Location: Based in Novi, Michigan, with 4–5 days per week in the office; remote work is also mentioned. Regular in-person meetings, events, and travel up to 10% are required. Remote work is not available in New York City.

Salary: $140,000–$170,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus. California base salary range: $154,000–$187,000.

What you will do

• Translate the SCOUT brand promise, strategy, and design language into visual interfaces for in-vehicle systems and mobile applications.
• Develop layouts, iconography, typography, color, shapes, textures, graphics, and dynamic interactions for automotive UI.
• Create 2D and 3D concepts using Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, Unreal, Maxon Cinema 4D, Blender, and VRED.
• Collaborate with designers, design leadership, and developers to maintain a cohesive visual language and accurate implementation.
• Create and organize production assets while maintaining design systems and production pipelines across screens and devices.
• Manage multiple projects, timelines, marketing assets, presentations, and interactive event materials.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience as a user interface visual designer, with significant automotive experience.
• Experience designing production-ready interfaces for instrument clusters, head units, and other in-vehicle controls.
• Portfolio demonstrating automotive UI visual design, motion graphics, and dynamic interactions.
• Extensive experience with Figma and Adobe Suite for detailed, production-quality visual assets.
• Experience taking design projects from concept through production while meeting technical and industry standards.
• Strong problem-solving, organization, communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Broad 2D and 3D capabilities, including modeling, rigging, texturing, lighting, rendering, animation, typography, iconography, layout, and visual hierarchy.
• Ability to bridge 2D and 3D workflows across automotive UI, digital experiences, and visual storytelling.
