Manager, Field Operations - Industrial Sectors (Robotics)

What you will do

• Lead, coach, recruit, and develop a team of Field Applications Engineers supporting customer deployments.
• Scale the field applications organization across customers, robotic platforms, applications, and geographic regions.
• Plan staffing and allocate engineering resources across deployments, demonstrations, pilots, and production programs.
• Establish processes, playbooks, tools, and standards for deployment readiness, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, customer acceptance, and ongoing support.
• Partner with customers and cross-functional teams across Product, Engineering, Program Management, Sales, Solutions, and Customer Success.
• Track operational metrics, resolve escalated technical and customer issues, and convert field feedback into product and engineering priorities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in robotics, engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Significant experience in field applications engineering, robotics deployment, systems integration, technical operations, or a comparable customer-facing engineering function.
• Experience leading and managing technical field teams and scaling operations across multiple customers, sites, or geographic regions.
• Strong understanding of complex hardware and software systems, with strong troubleshooting, systems-thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience developing processes, documentation, training programs, performance metrics, and operational standards.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as business needs require.

Nice to have

• Experience deploying robotic or autonomous systems in complex industrial environments.
• Experience supporting energy, manufacturing, construction, mining, agriculture, logistics, aerospace, defense, or infrastructure customers.
• Familiarity with Linux, networking, sensors, robotic hardware, autonomy software, and system-level diagnostics.
• Experience managing distributed or international technical teams and scaling early-stage pilots into production deployments.
• Knowledge of industrial site safety, commissioning practices, and customer acceptance procedures.
