Hardware Operations Specialist

Location: Hybrid, Palo Alto, CA; must be onsite in San Jose, CA at least 2 times per week

Salary: $80,000–$140,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Track inventory at the local contract manufacturer, including available, incoming, allocated, and shipped items.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and shipment tracking information.
• Support USA domestic logistics by preparing shipments, coordinating with carriers, tracking deliveries, and resolving shipping issues.
• Follow up with contract manufacturers, suppliers, and internal teams on open operational items.
• Organize hardware, spare parts, packaging materials, and finished goods.
• Identify inventory discrepancies, shipment delays, and other issues early while keeping operational records current.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in hardware operations, supply chain, manufacturing, logistics, inventory management, or a similar hands-on operational role.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, communication, teamwork, and follow-through.
• Ability to manage multiple open items, follow changing instructions, update records, and ask questions when requirements are unclear.
• Comfort handling physical parts, packaging, assemblies, and finished hardware.
• Basic familiarity with Bill of Materials (BOM) and cost BOM (CBOM), or willingness to learn quickly.
• Ability to work onsite in San Jose, California at least twice per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with contract manufacturers or manufacturing environments.
• Exposure to overseas suppliers or China-based manufacturing.
• Experience with inventory, ERP, purchasing, or logistics systems.
• Consumer electronics or hardware startup experience.
• Mandarin language skills or a bachelor's degree in manufacturing or engineering.
